Last Wednesday night was the awards ceremony for the British Council Innovation Awards (the ELTons) and I’m really happy to say that one of the three prizes in the UK category went to TEFLclips.

I would like to say a big thank you to the British Council, the organizers for doing such an excellent job, the judges, and also everyone who has been in touch since to say ‘congratulations’. I’d also like to say well done to all of the other winners and nominees who can be seen here.

Also, thank you to Neil Kinnock whose energy greatly contributed to the atmosphere of the evening. In the photograph Neil looks on in admiration as I make an unplanned, yet concise and highly witty speech. That’s a lie by the way - the truth is that I just stood on the stage and let 20 seconds worth of jibberish fall out of my mouth. You can see the highly-edited version here.

Finally, thank you very much to all my students and to all of you for using TEFLclips and telling friends about it. It wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Jamie :-)

Congratulations!
I’ve been reading your posts for some months now, and have tried three of your lessons so far, with good results.
You are an inspiration to me.

Clap clap clap, we’d voted you best on our online Favourite Website Poll so had no doubts!!

Thanks James for sharing and a pat on the back for all your great work.

Valentina

Hello Valentina
Thank you very much. I didn’t know about this other pole. What an honour!
I hope to see you in Cardiff in two weeks
Jamie

Hi Jamie

Many congratulations from East Linton - knew you could do it! By the way was that a joke about the pole? Or did you mean poll? Another confusing homophone! Anne and Jack

Hello mum. Nice to hear from you. No - the poll / pole thing was a silly mistake. And it’s not the first time that this particular homophone has confused me. Normally I would just go back and change it but I can’t now because you have pointed it out. Oh dear. Love Jamie x

Hi Jamie,
Congratulations!!!
I haven’t tried any of the lessons yet but I will soon. The potential is great and I’m sure my students will love it.
Coming to Norwich this summer?

I know how much work and dedication it takes to keeping a project like this up & running. Your work keeps me enthused and motivated to keep doing great things in class. Thanks so much, from a grateful teacher out in the wilderness of the Libyan desert.
Well done - you deserve it.
Andy.

Hi Jamie,

Me too! Like the previous post I just wanted to say how much I appreicate what you´ve done and to say how my lessons have changed since I found your website. It adds a great deal to the classes I teach - even if it´s just sharing a short video from YouTube. It keeps the students focused and it has become a ‘treat’ at the end of the class if not the main focus. Many, many thanks and keep up the good work. Helen in Barcelona

What can I say? Winning an ELTon award was fun but comments like yours are worth even more. Thank you very much for saying such nice things. It really does make it all worth it.
