In August, 2006, YouTube announced its plan to offer “every music video ever created“. I don’t know if such a dream can ever be made possible but there is no music video that I have been unable to find on the site so far.
YouTube can be regarded as a huge repository of music for the classroom (forget the element of video for a moment). Online access means no more running around looking for cassettes or CDs for song-based activities.
The lesson plan on pdf file above can be downloaded and stored on a computer or memory stick. The lesson makes use of YouTube for no reason other than the fact that it can be used to play Roxanne in class. It makes use of translation and will work best with monolingual classes. Please note that Roxanne is a song about a prostitute and will not be suitable for all learners.
Dear Jaime,
These are excellent study plans and very creative. I will definitely recommend your site at my next TESOL Grenoble (France) workshop.
Please continue sharing your work with us!
