For this lesson plan you will need to print off the following worksheets:

  • Prepare a set of cut up sentences for each pair of students. Put sentence sets into envelopes.
  • Also make a copy of the worksheet for each student.

Lesson plan:

1. Ask your students what they had for breakfast.

2. Tell them that they are going to see a video clip in which a man’s breakfast speaks to him. Ask them to guess what it says.

3. Play the following clip:

4. Put students into pairs, give out a set of cut up sentences to each pair and get them to attempt to put the sentences into the correct order from memory according to what they saw in the clip.

5. Let pairs compare their results. Use this as an opportunity to drill the language.

6. Play clip again and let everyone check the order of their sentences.

7. Get your students to put their sentences back into the envelopes and return them to you.

8. Give out copies of the worksheet and see if your students can remember the missing words.

9. Go over the answers and drill all the sentences again.

10. Get your students to turn over their worksheets, play the clip a third time and see if your students can recall the sentences. Make use of the pause button while you do this.

Hello.
I’m a big fan of the TEFLclips.com. I am an English teacher in South Korea. I’ve watching and examining your lessons plans and worksheets. It looks really nice. But I have some difficulties. I have 40 students in a classroom, and I’m not that fluent speaking in English. And my students are not likely to speak in English. They feel shy. For these reasons, I haven’t used your materials.

But I think this lessons plan could be used in my classes. Can you help me more? In the lesson plan, you wrote this, “Let pairs compare their results. Use this as an opportunity to drill the language.” How do you think I can develope this stage more?

Thanks.

Hello,

thanks so much for such wonderful materials you are providing us with.
I do appreciate your work.
thank you very much indeed.

That is very nice of you to say so Mohamed. It means a lot to me. At the moment, I’m still working hard on the new site. It should be ready in a few weeks. I hope you’re going to like it.
Thanks again
All the best
Jamie =)
