If you have access to a computer in the classroom without internet access, this does not mean that YouTube clips cannot be shown. There are a number of ways of downloading or ‘capturing’ YouTube clips prior to the lesson. This will then allow take the clips into class on a memory stick, a laptop or even an ipod.

Here is one way of doing it:

1. Go to www.YouTube.com and find the clip that you want to download.

2. Copy the URL (i.e. the adress in the bar at the top of the screen - the one that will look something like this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FzRH3iTQPrk)

3. Go to: www.zamzar.com

4. Underneath the words “Step 1″ click on “URL”

5. Underneath the words “Step 1″ you will see a window. Make sure you have deleted all text from this window and then paste the URL address that you copied from YouTube.

6. Underneath the words “Step 2″ you will see a drop down menu which will allow you to select the file format that you want to save your YouTube clip as.

7. Enter your email address in the window under “Step 3″ and then click “Convert”.

8. Zamzar will send you an email which will allow you to click on a link and download the file which will contain your YouTube clip. Be patient - it may take a whole day for this to be sent to you.
